Center for the Promotion of Science (CPN) is a public institution established in 2010 by the Ministry of Science of Serbia with the task to promote science and technology. The Center, according to its mandate, cooperates with research and educational institutions (universities, research centers and schools) in Serbia and worldwide, works closely with the government ministries as well as the media and the private sector.
The CPN’s mission is to bridge the gap between science and society by bringing together all relevant actors and the general public in the process of research and innovation. The ultimate aim is integration of society in research processes, and influence on general research agenda in order to reflect the needs of the society and to address societal challenges.
The Center organizes a large number of exhibitions, lectures, panel discussions and other events on different topics. Major events include May Month of Mathematics – M3, Children Science Camp and art+science (annually), and also Days of the Future: Robotics and CERN in Serbia as some prestigious examples from the past. Central for all formats is always the idea to create them in an interactive way, so visitors can play an active part in it.
CPN has strong competences in communication and PR activities, relations to media, and multimedia material production. Its publishing production has been awarded on several occasions, with four to five new titles each year and a quarterly published magazine Elements.
CPN is renowned by its international cooperation and is seen as a regional leader in the Southeastern Europe. It is currently a partner in seven H2020, one Creative Europe and four Erasmus+ projects, making in total 30 EU funded projects so far.
